Carolyn H Hi JoAnn! I live in So Cal now but spent 20 years in NC. Welcome! When I first started, I had a lot to learn about nutrition. As you check out the program, you might want to try on the series of lessons called Mighty Nutrition. iI started there and it really helped me because I understood that eating too many processed foods, especially carbs, was why I felt sluggish. I hope you will have great success with tge program!

Amy W hi Jo Ann, I'm Amy. About prediabetes... when I was diagnosed with prediabetes, my A1c but lower number. I had a doctor then who disregarded everything that came up. Along with that, I had high blood pressure and a fatty liver. His words: I'm not worried about you! You're healthy as a horse!
Um wait what? How nonchalant he was about the health problems that were well underway caused me to minimize them myself. Obviously he's not my doctor anymore. And now here I sit with something called NASH Which is more serious than just fatty liver and is then very step below liver disease or liver failure, I guess. I now have stage two chronic kidney disease, which I just found out about. Didn't even know I had stage one. I'm over 100 pounds overweight.
My point in hijacking your post was this- it's great that you are starting this journey now when you can actually do something concrete about it and it will be a little easier for you although I don't mean to minimize your struggles. Please continue to be vigilant in your diet and also exercise and lowering your sugar. I wish someone had told me that. If you don't, one day, you will wake up and possibly be in my shoes.
I am still on a journey in this way, like really recently, so I really don't know any advice to give other than that. I wish you so much luck and I hope to keep seeing you around.
