Health Coach Answers- “How do I make some of my favorite summer foods low carb.” For the next few weeks I will highlight cooking tips and swaps to make these foods more nutrient dense, low carb and MIGHTY FRIENDLY. One of the most used condiments- RANCH!!! 1. Swap out the high sugars, unhealthy fats (oils), and highly processed ranch for a healthy version by making your base with whole milk Greek yogurt and buttermilk. You can swap out the buttermilk for whole milk and vinegar or sour cream. - cooking tip- this dressing does not freeze well! Add in ranch seasoning packet to more of a ranch flavor. 2. Try a high protein option. My personal favorite summer dip is this COTTAGE CHEESE DIP. The only ingredients are cottage cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, chives and dill or ranch seasoning. - cooking tip- this is made best in a food processor or high power blender. Jenifer H Sounds so good. I have been wondering about the ranch dip seasoning. I was concerned it might fit into the "highly processed" category?
