Lindsay T Hey Helen! The keto diet is defined by consuming less than 50 g of net carbs per day. The diet focuses on very low carb, high protein and high fat. There are pros and cons to the keto diet. The pros are because the consumption of carbohydrates are so low it forces the body to use fat for fuel leading to faster weight loss results. The cons are that because the carbohydrates are so low the diet can be very restrictive and it can be hard to stick to it consistently to see the results.
