How does Mighty Health work? What is a Mighty Day?

Each day, when you open the Mighty Health app, you’ll see a personalized plan designed to help you achieve your health goals. Usually, there will be a mix of exercise, eating well, and learning about your health.

A Mighty Day is a healthy, balanced day where you've completed all of tasks. Each time you finish one of your tasks, the Mighty Day circle will fill up just a bit more — and when you complete your circle for the day, we'll throw a little confetti ceremony in your honor and celebrate another successful step toward your health goals!

Your goal is to make every day a Mighty Day and build a streak! Contact your coach if you have any questions.

What are Mighty Day streaks?

They say consistent action creates consistent results, and your health journey is no different! To rack up a streak, complete more than one Mighty Day in a row. To view your current streak or your longest streak to date, check out the Progress tab.

How do I start chatting with my coach?

If you signed up for Mighty Health using your phone number, your coach will reach out to you to introduce themselves via text message and start your journey together!

You can also tap on their photo on the top left corner of your Today tab. If you’re having trouble reaching your coach, please email us at support@mightyhealth.com so we can get you connected with your coach right away.

What are Achievements and how do I get them?

Achievements are special milestones to celebrate your victories along the way. For example, when you've completed a certain number of Mighty Days (5, 10, 25, etc.) or completed a certain number of workouts in the app (5, 10, 25, etc.), you'll be awarded a shiny new badge you can proudly show off to your family, community, or social media. Tip: when you complete 100 Mighty Days, you’ll earn a (free) limited edition shirt!

What if I miss a workout or lesson?

Consistency is key, but we understand sometimes life gets in the way! If you miss a workout or lesson, it will automatically be rescheduled to the next available day in your program. For example, if your workout days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, a missed workout on Monday will automatically be rescheduled to Wednesday.

How do I manage the notifications I get from Mighty Health?

Notifications are a great way to receive timely reminders and make sure you don’t miss anything important in your program. To turn notifications on or off for certain parts of the app, tap the Settings icon (the gear) on the top right corner of the Today tab and scroll down to the Notifications section. There, you can learn about the different types of notifications from our app and toggle on/off the ones you'd like to receive anytime. If you’re still not receiving notifications, make sure you’re allowing notifications on your iPhone or Android.

Can I use Mighty Health on my computer?

Yes! You can access our entire library of exercises on your computer - this is especially helpful if you want to follow along with our workouts on a larger screen. Visit mightyhealth.com and use the “Login” button on the top right corner.

We highly recommend downloading our free mobile app so you have full access to your personalized nutrition plan, Mighty Day, progress tracking, and community, but it is not required.

Can I use Mighty Health only for workouts and not have the coaching, nutrition plan, etc.?

Yes! You can always utilize any part of the program (such as exercises) on its own.

Workouts & Step Tracking

How can I view my workout videos on a larger screen (for example, my tablet or TV)?

Sometimes, it can be easier to follow along with our Mighty trainers on a larger screen!

Tablet: You can download the Mighty Health app on your tablet (most iPads and Android tablets are supported) and log in to your account using the same login method (phone, social media account, etc.) you used on your phone. There, you can access your favorite workout — just tap the button on the bottom right corner of the video to expand to full screen!

Computer: Visit mightyhealth.com and click the “Login” button on the top right corner. Log in using the same phone number you’ve used in the past (for the app, etc.) and click “Exercises” at the top.

TV: To cast your workouts onto your TV, your TV will need Chromecast (either built-in or plugged in), Apple TV (plugged in), or Amazon Fire Stick (plugged in). If you're unsure if you have this capability, send your TV's make and model to your coach or support@mightyhealth.com and we’ll do their best to help out! If you have one of these services, you will see an icon (a TV with an up arrow) in the bottom right corner of your workout video to begin casting.

This workout is too hard / easy - can I change it?

Yes! You can change your workout track anytime by going to the Explore tab.

To remove your current workout Track, go to Explore, tap "See your current tracks," tap the track you want to remove, and select Remove.

Then, feel free to discover and try different types of workouts! On the Explore tab, select Workouts and take a look around. Let your coach know if you have any questions or would like any recommendations!

Can I change which days of the week I exercise?

You can change your workout schedule anytime. Just visit the Explore tab, tap "See your current tracks," tap the track you'd like to change, and tap "Edit Schedule." Let your coach know if you have any questions!

I'm feeling sore... should I take a break?

It's normal to feel soreness (especially in muscles you didn't even know you had!) for 1-2 days after each workout, especially if you haven't exercised in a while. Normal muscle soreness is a sign that you're getting stronger, and is nothing to be alarmed about. As you exercise, you stress your muscles and the fibers begin to break down; as these fibers repair themselves, they become stronger than they were before. That's why we often start you out with a day of rest in between workouts so you can recover.

In contrast, you may experience pain during or after performing exercise. If the pain lingers without fully going away (even after rest), this may be indicative of an injury. Pushing through injury can worsen the problem. If you feel that your pain is extreme or is not resolving after 7-10 days, please consult with a medical provider.

How does the app count my steps automatically?

The Mighty Health app syncs with the native pedometer app on your phone in order to count your steps. If you are using an iPhone, we sync with the Apple Health app (free and comes pre-installed on your phone). If you are using an Android phone, we sync with the Google Fit app (free and may need installation). To ensure your steps are counted, please make sure you have your phone with you on your walks or (if you have a fitness tracker) that your tracker is syncing your steps with Apple Health or Google Fit.

Why are my steps not syncing?

If the steps from your recent walking are not showing up in the Mighty Health app, please try the following steps to fix it:

  1. Open the Mighty Health app and wait 10 seconds. It may take a little time for the steps to sync from the pedometer and for the data to show.

  2. If the steps are still not updated, check to make sure your pedometer app is properly connected: in the Mighty Health app, open the Settings tab and check to see that it says "Connected" next to your pedometer app. If it doesn't show as Connected, you can connect it again.

  3. You may also want to directly check your pedometer app (Google Fit on Androids or Apple Health on iPhones) to see if your steps registered properly there. If no steps are showing in your pedometer app, your phone model may not support step tracking.

  4. If the steps above don't work, please message your coach and they will help you troubleshoot as soon as possible!

I have a Fitbit - can I connect it to Mighty Health?

Yes you can! Go to the Settings page in the app (the gear on the top right corner of the Today tab), tap “Add Fitness Tracker,” and follow the instructions to connect your Fitbit to Mighty Health.

My step count for today seems wrong - how can I correct it?

We want to make sure you get credit for all of your exercise! If you'd like to manually update your steps count, you can tap the walking task in the app (on your Today tab) and tap "Add New Activity." Select walking and enter how many steps you'd like us to give you credit for.

How do I get credit for other types of exercise (besides walking) that I do outside of the app, like biking or swimming?

To add any additional exercise activity, tap the Exercise walking task in the app (on your Today tab) and tap “Add New Activity.” There, you can choose the appropriate activity type and add your duration so you can get credit for the great work you’ve done.

Nutrition & Food Logging

What are your nutrition recommendations and plans based on?

Based on the latest research literature (including from the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association) and recommendations from our board of nationally recognized physicians, we recommend a low-carb diet that is further customized for your dietary preferences. We believe a low-carb diet provides the most long-term weight and chronic health benefits while also being a tasty, enjoyable, and sustainable way of eating for the rest of your life.

What's the difference between Mighty Health's nutrition recommendations and other "diets"?

We strongly believe the best nutrition plan you can have is the one you'll actually enjoy and stick with for years to come. We've seen countless examples of those who have tried "quick-fix" diets or weight loss programs for a couple months, only to regain all of the weight (and more) soon afterwards. A recent study from Stanford University showed that only 5% of people who previously lost weight on a program are able to keep it off.

Based on the latest research and recommendations from our board of physicians, we believe a low-carb diet provides the most long-term benefits while also being tasty, enjoyable, and sustainable. Your coach and the Mighty Health community will also help support you and keep you motivated for the long-term.

How do I complete my food log?

If you see the task "Enter your meals”, simply tap it and select the meal you'd like to enter (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snacks). Then, enter each ingredient on a separate line and be sure to tap Complete when finished. You may include portion sizes or other details if you'd like, but it's optional.

To complete the food log for your Mighty Day, enter ingredients or Skip at least 3 meals for that day. Afterwards, your coach will review your food log and give you feedback and/or suggestions (you'll receive a notification when this happens).

Will I complete my Mighty Day if my coach hasn't given feedback on my food log yet?

Yes! As long as you've entered food items or tapped Skip for at least 3 meals that day, your food log will be considered completed for your Mighty Day. Your coach will review your food log within the next 24-72 hours and give you feedback and/or suggestions (you'll receive a notification when this happens).
